(PAOLI) - Orange County Sheriff Richard Dixon announced his support with the Indiana Sheriff’s Association to support the Constitutional right, both federal and state, of a law abiding citizen to own a firearm.
Dixon says that when he became sheriff, he took an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Indiana to protect constitutional rights.
"At a time when those that are governed have less trust in those who govern, it is important that we hold steadfast and focus our attention not on what divides us, but instead, what keeps us together. Citizens are guaranteed the right to bear arms in both documents. I fully intend to honor those rights of the people as spelled out in these documents," Dixon added.
