(UNDATED) - A public comment period for the portion of a proposed pipeline that would carry ethane from Franklin County in eastern Indiana to Jackson County began Tuesday and will end March 12.
Enterprise Products Operating LLC has applied for water quality certification for the 63 miles of a new 20-inch pipeline to be constructed in Indiana, according to a public notice from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management.
That pipeline is part of the ATEX Pipeline, which would move ethane from Marcellus/Utica Shale formations in areas of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia to Texas.
The new pipeline in Indiana would end at a station west of U.S. 31 along County Road 1000N in the Reddington area. There, the line will tie into an existing pipeline that will carry the ethane another 877 miles to its southern terminus at Beaumont, Texas.
