(BLOOMFIELD) - Those interested in majoring in the law enforcement field may be eligible for a $500 scholarship.
According to a press release issued by the Greene County Sheriff's Department, the Indiana Sheriff's Association will be presenting 40 scholarships in the amount of $500 each to qualifying students around the state of Indiana.
In order to be eligible, the student must be a member of the Indiana Sheriff's Association, a dependent of an association member or a grandchild to a member of the association.
The student must a resident of Indiana and be attending an Indiana college or university. They must also be majoring in the law enforcement field as a full-time student.
Applications for the scholarships are available at each school's guidance office, or can be picked up at the Greene County Sheriff's Department, in Bloomfield.
Students can also apply by writing to the Indiana Sheriff's Association at 147 E. Maryland St., Indianapolis, Ind., 46204-3608 and requesting an application form.
The application can also be downloaded and printed at www.indianasheriffs.org.
The application deadline is April 1. The applications must be completed and received by the Indiana Sheriff's Association on or before this date.
