Six Arrested On Charges Of Neglect And Battery Of Nursing Home Resident

(DUBOIS COUNTY) - Six people were arrested Monday after a lengthy investigation by the Indiana Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit into alleged abuse of a nursing home resident in Jasper.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed in Dubois County Circuit Court, the Attorney General's Office received a complaint about possible abuse of a resident at the Providence Home Health Care Center in Jasper.

Six employees were arrested after allegations of battered and neglected and endangerment of an adult who was a resident at the home.

The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit worked with Indiana State Police and the Dubois County Prosecutor's Office, and upon review of the evidence, arrest warrants were issued for 32-year-old Tonya Sanders, of Loogootee; 33-year-old Blaine Ballard, of Jasper; 28-year-old Casey Hill and 28-year-old Wendy Sutherlin, both of Taswell. They were charged with battery, neglect and intimidation.

Also arrested were 40-year-old Katrina Patterson, of Jasper and 52-year-old Sheryl Rockett, of Washington, on charges of failure to report battery and neglect or exploitation of endangered adult.
