(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Mental Health Coalition is teaming up with Bloomington Meadows Hospital to hold a synthetic drug panel from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence County Limestone building, 19th Street and Brian Lane Way.
The panel will feature Josh Allen, an Indiana State Police officer; Abbi Powell, clinic services coordinator and therapist, licensed mental health counselor for Centerstone-Bedford; Eddie McLain, a local resident and lobbyist for synthetic drug laws; along with an unnamed parent and unnamed past user.
The hospital is also providing a free lunch to all who attend.
"We decided to do a panel because it's always changing, there's always new compounds," Holbrook said. "And we want to get questions answered."
Because the compounds are changing, they need different treatments, which makes it hard to treat, according to Holbrook.
Holbrook is estimating that 40-60 people will show for the panel.
