(WASHINGTON) - An 8-year-old girl on a motorized scooter was injured Thursday evening when she rode her scooter into traffic.
According to Washington Police, at 7:20 p.m., Tifffany Potts rode her motorized scooter out of an alley onto North West First Street, behind the Central Christian Church, and into the path of a southbound Chevrolet pick-up driven by John Howell, of Washington.
Police say, Potts was thrown approximately six feet after impact and suffered cuts and bleeding to her head.
Police say, the scooter ended up approximately 27 feet from the point of impact.
Howell was not injured in the crash.
Damage to the scooter and the pick-up was estimated at $5,000.
