(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested Thursday on three counts of child molesting.
Lawrence Superior Court I Judge Michael Robbins issued a warrant for the arrest of 36-year-old Sandi J. Miller, of 109 Mason Street.
According to a probable cause affidavit police began their investigation after the girl and her mother went to Susie's Place, a child advocacy center, to report that the child had been sexually abused.
The first instance happened when the child, now 10, was 7 years old. According to the affidavit, the girl told her mother. The mother told police she was upset and crying as she tried to call authorities. The child, who saw her mother upset and crying, then told the mother the allegation was not true. The girl told police later that she did not want her mother to live that way.
Years later, in October 2012, the mother and daughter were having a conversation about the importance of being honest with each other and not keeping secrets. At that time the girl told her mother she had lied to her before, and that she had been abused when she was 7.
The mother asked if anything had happened since that time, and the girl said the same man had sexually abused her during the summer of 2012.
