(LAWRENCEBURG) - A Bedford man and two others were arrested after Indiana State Police Trooper stopped their vehicle on U.S. 50 Thursday night.
At 11:20 p.m. Trooper Kyle Stovall stopped a 2000 Dodge Neon at U.S. 50 and Arch St. in Lawrenceburg for a traffic violation.
After talking to the driver, 26- year-old Matthew P. Redd, of Madison, Trooper Stovall noticed the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the car.
The driver and two passengers were asked to exit the vehicle.
After a search officers found heroin, a hypodermic syringe, and other articles commonly associated with the use of heroin.
All three people in the car were arrested and taken to the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
Reed was charged with possession of a schedule I narcotic (heroin) and maintaining a common nuisance.
His passengers, 22-year-old Derek Wood, of Bedford, and 25-year-old Justin Jones, of Lexington, IN, were charged possession of a schedule I narcotic (heroin) and visiting a common nuisance
Trooper Stovall was assisted at the scene by Troopers Brent Miller and Brian Earls.
