(MITCHELL) - Spring Mill State Park invites participants to get an up-close-and-personal view of raptors at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Lakeview Room at Spring Mill Inn.
The program will be presented by Leslie Grow, naturalist at Hardy Lake. Hardy Lake State Recreational Area is home to the Dwight Chamberlain Raptor Center.
The center takes in injured and orphaned hawks, owls, eagles and falcons for the purpose of rehabilitation and later release. The center is home to 12 permanently injured birds of prey that are used for educational programming throughout the state.
The fee is $2. For an additional cost, lunch is available from 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Millstone Dining Room.
The rehabilitation center at Hardy Lake has been in operation since 1989 and is the only state-owned raptor facility in Indiana.
