(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police are investigating a possible aggravated battery that reportedly occurred during the early morning hours Sunday and resulted in significant injuries to a 22-year-old man’s head.
Sgt. Joseph Crider says officers were dispatched to IU Health Bloomington Hospital at about 1:30 a.m. Monday, where they spoke with the injured 22-year-old man.
He told police he had been walking home from Kilroy's Bar and Grill toward the Stadium Crossing apartment complex at about 3 a.m. Sunday, but could not remember exactly what had happened. He had been drinking.
Crider says the man had been attacked near the Stadium and suffered injuries and a concussion. He was taken to the hospital Sunday morning and was released around noon the same day, but returned to the hospital later that evening, and that is when police were called.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police.
