(BEDFORD) - After taking its act to the highest level in 2012-13 by winning the third girls basketball state championship in school history, Bedford North Lawrence earned another great gig for next season.
The Lady Stars have been asked to play in the 2013 City Securities Hall of Fame Classic in New Castle at the world's largest high school basketball gymnasium the New Castle Chrysler Fieldhouse.
The girls tournament will be played on Friday, Dec. 27 and will include Rushville and Homestead squaring off in the 11 a.m. opener, followed by BNL and Indianapolis Pike clashing in the second game.
The third-place game will start at 6 p.m., with the title tilt to follow. The boys field on Saturday, Dec. 28 will feature Greensburg against Mt. Vernon (Fortville) at 11 a.m., with Columbus North against Evansville Harrison in the second game.
Getting invited to the Hall of Fame Classic is both a reward and honor for any program, and it's the third time BNL has been asked to participate, with 1986 and 1991 the other two appearances.
