(CRANE) - According to a press release from Crane Army Ammunition Activity five people were injured in an explosion at the base late Thursday.
According to the release, the five injured were taken to Indiana University Health Bloomington Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
The injured were: Steve Reed of Springville; Connie Alsman, Dana Roach and Jason O'Conner, all of Bloomfield, and Janeth Shahat of Washington.
The cause of the accident, which occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m., is still under investigation. The blast occurred during routine clean-up operations in the pyrotechnic facility.
