(BEDFORD) - 73-year-old Roy Pace, of Bedford, a former Bedford Police officer, was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly smacked a woman and held her in his car.
According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley the two were in a domestic fight in the area of Ind. 37 and Ind. 58.
Pace had given the woman a ride and during the ride he told the woman he did not like the male company she kept.
The two began to argue, that is when Pace allegedly smacked the woman twice. Pace then pulled into a parking lot where the woman attempted to get out of the vehicle.
When she did, Pace started the vehicle again and the girl fell, injuring her head and back. Two truck drivers who were in the lot saw the incident and went to the woman's aid.
Pace was arrested at the scene. An ambulance was called for the woman and she was treated at the scene, but while officers were talking to her they determined she, Amber Prince, was wanted on a warrant for petition to revoke probation, theft, fraud.
