(CUZCO) - A French Lick woman was trapped in her vehicle and suffered head injuries when she ran off the road Wednesday night at about 8:39 p.m.
According to police, 35-year-old Brandi Kaiser, French Lick, was northbound on Cuzco Road, half a mile north of Cuzco, in a 1997 Subaru Outback wagon when she lost control for an unknown reason and went off the right side of the road. Her vehicle struck a bridge guardrail, which went into the vehicle, before coming to rest in a ditch.
Kaiser had to be extricated from the vehicle. She suffered a head injury and was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital before being flown to St. Mary's Hospital in Evansville.
Her vehicle was a total loss.
The crash is still under investigation, but charges are not expected at this time.
The Dubois County Sheriffs Department was assisted by Dubois First Responders and Memorial EMS on scene.
