(BLOOMINGTON) - Just after 9 pm Wednesday, the Indiana State Police Meth Task Force found a meth lab at a home in the 1600 block of Rayletown Road in Bloomington.
The home is owned by Justin Beck. When troopers arrived, they smelled odors associated with the making of the drug and asked to search the property.
Beck granted them permission.
Troopers found an active meth lab and chemicals: sodium hydroxide lye, sulfuric acid, lithium metal, pseudoephedrine, ammonium nitrate, starting fluid and camp fuel.
Troopers also located a white powder that tested positive for meth and paraphernalia used to ingest the drug.
Hazardous mixed chemical reactions used to produce meth were also located.
Justin Beck, 31, was arrested and charged with manufacturing meth, possession of meth, possession of precursors with the intent to manufacture meth, and maintaining a common nuisance.
Joshua Deckard, 30, also of Bloomington, was at the home and he too was charged with manufacturing meth and visiting a common nuisance.
Anyone with information reference possible methamphetamine activity can contact the Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Task Force at 812-332-4411.
Oftentimes anonymous tips can lead to successful investigations and the removal of dangerous methamphetamine labs.
The labs can give off a distinct odor that can be compared to a smell of ammonia and/or a chemical odor associated with starting fluid or camp fuel.
