(BICKNELL) - For the first time in 31 seasons the Linton-Stockton Miners are boys basketball sectional champions.
They did it thanks to a 47-41 win over Class 2A No. 5 Sullivan in the title game of the IHSAA Class 2A North Knox Sectional.
Austin Karazsia scored 13 points and Dess Fougerousse 17 as the Miners advance to next Saturday's regional at Huntingburg Memorial Gymnasium for the Class 2A Southridge Regional.
The Miners (21-3) will meet No. 8 Clarksville (17-5) at approximately 1 p.m. Saturday in the second game.
The first semifinal game at 11 a.m. will feature No. 13 Perry Central (20-3) against Switzerland County (17-4).
The championship game is set for 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $7 for session tickets and $10 for season tickets, good for all three games.
The season tickets will be available later this week at the high school.
