(DAVIESS COUNTY) - A Loogootee woman was injured Thursday morning in a two vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 350 east and County Road 200 north.
According to Indiana State Trooper Jarrod Lents, at approximately 9:30 a.m. Betty J. Lewis, 75, of Loogootee was traveling northbound on CR 350 E in her blue 2004 Ford Taurus when she failed to yield the right of way to silver 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Brittany L. Martin, 18, of Washington that was traveling east on CR 200N.
Lewis' Taurus hit Martin's Impala on the right side.
Lewis was taken to Daviess Community Hospital and then transferred to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville for treatment of head injuries. Martin was not injured.
Lents said both drivers were wearing seatbelts and both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the crash.
Lewis was cited for failing to yield the right of way.
