(NORTH VERNON) - A North Vernon man was arrested recently after allegedly beating another man with a rolling pin.
Officer Justin Black, public information officer with the North Vernon Police Department, says 45-year-old Brian Edmondson is charged with battery resulting in serious bodily injury and intimidation.
Officer Black says around 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 400 block of Greensburg Street on a report that a man had reportedly been beaten and was covered in blood.
After arriving, officers found the man with injuries to his head, hand and back. During the course of the investigation, officers discovered that Edmondson had already left prior to police arriving. Further investigation revealed that Edmondson had allegedly used a rolling pin during the assault. The victim was transported to St. Vincent Jennings Hospital for treatment.
Officer Black says with help from the Jennings County Sheriff's Office, police were able to find Edmondson early Thursday morning and took him into custody.
