(PAOLI) - Throop Elementary School in Paoli will conduct its kindergarten screenings April 9-11. There will be two sessions on April 9 and 10, 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., and one session, beginning at 9 a.m. on April 11.
Children will be eligible to attend kindergarten if they are 5 years old on or before Aug. 1. A waiver may be granted by the superintendent if a child's birthday falls between Aug. 2 and Sept. 1.
A parent or guardian must accompany each child to the screening and must have a copy of the child's legal birth certificate, the souvenir copy from the hospital is not acceptable, and an up-to-date copy of immunizations.
Arrive about 10 minutes before the screening times. The screening takes about two hours. Parents will attend their own information session during the screening time.
If you have a child who is eligible, or know of one who is, call the Throop Elementary School office, (812) 723-3537, to be assigned a session to attend. When calling you need to have the following information: child's name, date of birth, Social Security number, parent's name, address and phone number.
Due to the new state mandates regarding teacher evaluations, the practice of requesting a teacher for your child is no longer acceptable.
