(WASHINGTON) - A weekend traffic stop by Washington Police ended with one going to jail after they attempted to hit a police officer.
Officers stopped the car for a traffic violation at the intersection of South East Third and East National Highway in Washington Saturday night.
The occupants of the vehicle were wanted on warrants. Police also found marijuana in the car. Police arrested 30-year-old Raymond Yelladay, of Washington, for resisting arrest, dealing marijuana within 1000 feet of a government housing complex, possession of marijuana, visiting a common nuisance, battery on a police officer and obstruction of justice.
25-year-old Kevin Flax Jr., of Washington, was charged with dealing marijuana within 1000 fett of a government housing complex, possession of marijuana and visiting a common nuisance.
Both men were taken to the Daviess County Security Center. The driver of the vehicle 27-year-old Alan Powers, of Washington, was not arrested.
