(BLOOMINGTON) - Australian Aboriginal artist and activist Richard Bell will visit Indiana University April 11 through 16.
The IU Art Museum is currently displaying his traveling solo exhibition, "Richard Bell: Uz vs. Them." It is on display until May 5.
Along with interacting with students and faculty, Bell will lead a special public tour through the exhibit at 3:30 p.m. April 14.
After the tour, world musician Adam Riviere will present a free concert at 2 p.m. in the museum's atrium.
The concert will feature Australian Aboriginal-style music featuring instruments such as the didgeridoo, clapsticks and bullroarer.
"Richard Bell: Uz vs. Them" features works by Bell whose art was an outgrowth of his activism in Aboriginal civil rights in the 1970s in Australia.
While at IU, Bell will also visit with students and faculty from the Hope School of Fine Arts Studio and Art History programs, the School of Education Cultural Immersion Projects, the School of Public and Environmental Affairs Arts Administration Program, and the First Nations Educational and Cultural Center.
