Behrman Murder Tip Left On Photographer's Vehicle

Last updated on Thursday, April 25, 2013

(MARTINSVILLE) - A WISH-TV photographer discovered an unusual note on the windshield of his news truck.

Jay Hermacinski of WISH TV8 reports that the truck was parked outside the Morgan County Courthouse where the station's news crew is covering the latest development in the Jill Behrman murder case

Convicted murderer John Myers is asking the judge to overturn the 2006 verdict. Myers says his lawyer at the time of the trial was incompetent.

Early on in the Behrman investigation, a woman by the name of Wendy Owings confessed to police that she and two others were responsible for Behrman's death. Owings recanted her confession after Behrman's skeletal remains were found in Morgan County in 2003.

The note left on the WISH-TV truck implicates three people in the case. The note says people were seen washing blood off themselves at someone's house. They also stayed at the home for three days.

Photojournalist Jason Harris turned the note over to the court where it was entered into evidence.

Court employees are checking surveillance video to see if they can determine who left the note on the truck.

Editor's Note: The image of the note was modified to protect the integrity of the case and to ensure no one's safety was put at risk.
