(SPEARSVILLE) - The bodies of a 57-year-old man and his three dogs were found in a Spearsville home Wednesday.
The Brown County Democrat reports that the discovery was made after a resident on Bean Blossom Road called police for a welfare check.
Neighbors became concerned after they hadn't seen Robert Arnold "Bob" Suding Jr., for close to one month. One neighbor called police around 6:30 pm after looking through a window and seeing the dead dogs.
Brown County Deputy Coroner Earl Piper estimated Suding had been dead for two to three weeks. Causes of death for Suding and the dogs have not been determined.
Piper is awaiting information from investigators before recording a cause of death. He has spoken with a pathologist and does not plan to seek an autopsy.
Piper is not sure how the dogs died, but says they probably did not starve and they had access to water.
Suding has family in Brown County and Chicago. Funeral arrangements are pending.
