(BEDFORD) - The limestone belt of southern Indiana was used as the setting for a 40-year unsolved murder mystery, “The Stonecutter, How the Word Became Flesh.”
The author, Delores J. Haltom of Bloomington, will be speaking and signing her book at the Lighthouse Christian Bookstore at 1 p.m. on April 27.
The event is a Spring Garden Party. Haltom will share a short message about gardening and the Holy Spirit. Billy Harper of Just Rocks Limestone Creations will have benches, birdhouses and birdbaths on display. Local duet Regina Embree and Kelly Herndon of Grace Abounds will perform, and there will be refreshments. People are also invited to participate in a perennial plant swap where a variety of plant starts will be available to swap out with.
Haltom's book is about stone -- both the magnificent stone belt that lies in the heart of Indiana and the stone that lay in the heart of a miserable, old recluse.
Lighthouse Christian Bookstore is on Ind. 37 between Mitchell and Bedford, call 279-9979.
