(EAST OOLITIC) - The East Oolitic Community Association hosted a community fund-raiser breakfast Saturday morning.
More than 120 people came out to eat, a homemade cooked meal of pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage and scrambled eggs.
While they enjoyed the meal and fellowship, they also visited with Senator Brent Steele and his wife Sally, who attended the breakfast.
Many asked questions about activities at the statehouse and others just dropped by to meet and greet the senator.
East Oolitic will use the funds to bring their community together and to make improvements in the community.
The community has held several meetings to address issues like, emergency disasters, terrorist threats, crime, and they can lend a helping hand to their neighbors to improve the quality of life in the community.
The community meets at the East Oolitic Community building on Denson Street, the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.
