(PEKIN) - Washington County Sheriff Deputies say an erratic driver crossed the center lane this afternoon near Pekin and struck and killed a motorcyclist.
The names of those involved in the crash have not been released pending notification of the family.
The accident happened on Ind. 60, east of Mostinger Road
The Washington County Sheriff's Department is still at the scene investigating.
Dispatch received several calls reporting a Jeep driving toward Pekin was swerving back and forth on the roadway.
Then a few minutes later, Sheriff Claude Combs says the dispatch received a 911 call reporting the driver of the Jeep had crossed the center line and hit a motorcyclist head-on.
Combs says after the Jeep hit the motorcycle, the Jeep rolled twice before coming to a stop.
Combs says driver of the motorcycle, a male, not from the Washington County area was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep has been taken by helicopter ambulance to a hospital in Louisville.
