(BEDFORD) - Firefighters from Shawswick and Pleasant Run Volunteer Fire Departments battled a garage fire at 7070 Leatherwood Circle Sunday afternoon.
According to Shawswick VFD Fire Chief Bobby Brown, the fire was reported after numerous motorist traveling on U.S. 50 east saw the blaze.
"We arrived within minutes and the garage was fully engulfed in flames," Brown says. "We are not releasing at this time what started the fire, but there is a possibility it was arson."
Lawrence County detectives were called to the scene.

"We are looking into who owns the home now," says Sheriff Sam Craig. "The garage was a total lose. We believe this could be an arson case and we are not releasing any information at this time because the fire is under investigation. Anyone with information about the blaze or who may have seen someone at the home or garage is asked to call the department."
