(BLOOMINGTON) - A 16-year-old girl was arrested Monday afternoon after reportedly attempting to rob a woman in the parking lot of Old National Bank, on West Third Street in Bloomington.
Bloomington Police Lt. Steve Kellams says the victim had just finished depositing a check at the bank, she told police, when the girl approached her from behind and demanded all the victim's money.
The victim told the girl she did not have any money because she just deposited it all, to which the girl told her "Well, consider this your lucky day."
The girl then got into a maroon Cadillac and drove away.
Kellams says, BPD detectives located the car at a nearby home and detectives were able to contact the girl. Kellams says the girl appeared to be under the influence of narcotic drugs and was arrested on the 5400 block of West State Road 48 and preliminary charged with attempted robbery.
The girl was transported to the Southwest Indiana Regional Youth Village, a juvenile detention center in Vincennes.
