(LINTON) - A Linton man was taken to jail Saturday evening after police arrived at a home and found a woman bleeding from a cut over her eye where she had been hit with a cell phone.
25-year-old Jared Kugler was arrested on an initial charge of domestic battery in the presence of a minor.
Linton Sgt. Chad Crynes was dispatched to a home on 1st Street SW after police received a call to make a welfare check. When Crynes and LPD Officer Rodney Bredeweg arrived on the scene, assisted by LPD Officer Rodney Bredeweg, they found a woman with swelling and a cut above her left eye that was bleeding.
The woman told police she had been in an argument with Kugler because he had been drinking. Kugler got upset and hit her with a cell phone.
Police say children were present at the residence during the altercation.
Kugler had then left the home, but he returned when officers were there and was arrested. He posted a $400 cash bond and was released Sunday. He will appear in court on Friday.
