(BLOOMINGTON) - Police arrested a man Monday in connection with an April 7 assault on the B-line trail.
Scott J. Hedrick-Dwyer, 23, was arrested and booked into the Monroe County Jail. Charges against him include confinement, a Class C felony and battery a Class A misdemeanor.
Bloomington police detectives took him into custody in Owen County when he showed up by mistake at a court appearance that was scheduled for another date.
A 23-year-old woman said she was rollerblading on the trail on the afternoon of April 7 when a man tackled her and began beating her.
The woman said he moved his hands toward her shorts before running off after a witness yelled at him and called 911.
The attack happened around 1:30 p.m. near light post no. 146, police said.
Investigators released a sketch of the attacker and received tips about his possible identity.
Callers said they recognized Hedrick-Dwyer from the description of his clothing. The victim also picked him out of a photo lineup, police said.
