(MARTIN COUNTY) - A Jasper man was injured after he crashed his ATV in southern Martin County Saturday night.
According to DNR Officer Anthony Mann, 53-year-old Nicholas Leidgen, of Jasper, was driving a 2012 Polaris ATV west on Rusk Road around 9 pm when for some unknown reason the ATV left the roadway and overturned, throwing Leidgen from the vehicle.
Other members of Leidgen's ATV party then transported him by a personal vehicle to State Road 56 to meet with a Dubois County EMS ambulance, and Dubois Fire Department First Responders.
Leidgen was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital for neck and back injuries.
Later, he was transported to Evansville's St Mary's Hospital for further treatment.
Mann says alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor and alcohol related charges are pending. The ATV was a total loss.
