(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police Department is investigating a reported robbery in which a Hampton Inn guest was robbed of jewelry and threatened with a box cutter Monday evening in the hotel parking lot.
Officers were called to the Hampton Inn on North Walnut Street around 8 pm.
BPD Lt. Steve Kellams says A 53-year-old man was unloading luggage from his car in the parking lot when a masked person got out of a silver Nissan, held a box cutter to him and robbed him of his jewelry.
The man called police shortly after the incident. Kellams says the man was not injured during the robbery and the case is still under investigation.
