(MITCHELL) - A missing Bloomington man was found in Mitchell early this morning.
According to Mitchell police, the department received a call at 1:23 am reporting there was a man in a silver car at one of the gas pumps at Gasoline Alley acting suspicious.
Employees Jari Reynolds and co-worker Mikey Allen, noticed the man acting disoriented during their shift at Gasoline Alley.
Instead of just ignoring him, Reynolds heard about a missing man and looked up the latest information about him.
She called police.
Police responded and that is when they found 82-year-old Gustav Bayerle.
Bayerle had been reported missing since about 4:30 pm Thursday and his family was worried about his medical conditions.
Indiana State Police say, Bayerle was following his wife home in a separate vehicle when he unexpectedly turned off in a different direction, police. The two were separated near the 3300 block of East Third Street in Bloomington.
Bayerle was driving a silver Volkswagen Passat with Indiana plate 266BDG.
Police have checked locations where Bayerle is known to frequent, but he has not been located.
His family drove to Mitchell to take Bayerle home.
