(ORLEANS) - The Town of Orleans has announced plans for a Town Wide Spring Clean Sweep effort April 8 to April 13.
Residents are asked to clean and up their properties.
The Orleans Chamber of Commerce and Dogwood Festival plannersare also joining town officials in this special effort and are urging all residents and business owners alike to pitch in and to do their part to help spruce up the town.
Organizers are also hoping local service organizations as well as groups like student volunteers, scouts, church youth groups will participate in the cleanup effort by volunteering to pick up trash or perhaps adopting an area in town to cleanup.
Town officials will be notifying owners of unkempt or rundown properties to clean up and address those needed areas around the community as well.
A large dumpster will be set up at the town garage during that week for residents to place junk and other items of discard. Some restrictions will apply.
Orleans Town Crews will be picking up large items of discard, limbs, small amounts of brush. These items should be placed curbside for pickup.
