(SHOALS) - The Martin County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an arson at The Sugar Shack in Shoals.
At 1:52 am Sunday police received a call of vandalism that happened to a vehicle parked at The Sugar Shack.
Deputy Damon Baker and Indiana State Police Trooper Andrew Beaver responded to the call.
Deputy Baker says that someone attempted to set the vehicle on fire. However bystanders in the area were able to extinguish the fire.
Baker says the vandals attempted to start the fire near the vehicle's fuel tank.
Baker says they are looking for a 20 to 25-year-old white male, approximately 5-feet, 5-inches tall, with slender build. He was wearing an ACU Digital camouflage jacket and was last seen running from the scene.
