(SALEM) - Rachel Hopkins, the Salem High School sophomore, who was struck by a motorist in front of the school last week, has had complications from the incident.
Her father, Jason Hopkins, says Rachel initially thought she was OK, but was experiencing effects of the impact by the time she made it into the school.
Her injuries include a torn rotator cuff and she has had complications with her diabetes. She has been back to the hospital several times.
Jason says nothing was broken but it is more serious then what originally thought. He says the Washington County prosecutor's office is reviewing the case.
Jason is hoping somebody in authority will take notice and implement safety measures.
