(COLUMBUS) - A 26-year-old Seymour man died in a hit-and-run accident outside a Columbus bar early Sunday morning.
According to a release from the Columbus Police Department, Thomas L. Brazzell died after being struck by a vehicle in the parking lot of Caddies Pub.
Police received a number of reports that stated a vehicle had struck a person and that the vehicle had fled the area.
Sunday, Columbus Police arrested 25-year-old Jacob A. Tolbert of Elizabethtown in connection with the incident. Tolbert is currently being held in the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of reckless homicide and leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
He also faces a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana because officers found a small amount of marijuana on Tolbert at the time of his arrest.
