(NASHVILLE) - As investigators work to determine the identity of bones found in Brown County, families of missing people wait.
The Spierers are among those families. Their daughter, Lauren Spierer, disappeared after a night out with friends in Bloomington on June 3, 2011.
Charlene Spierer told reporters she knew the body had been found and that Bloomington police detectives were keeping her updated with information.
"My husband and I always ask each other, 'What do you want the results to be?'" she said. "On the one hand, we want to find Lauren so desperately, and on the other hand, it just means that we're moving into the next phase of the nightmare for us. We want to know where Lauren is but by the same token, you never really want that phone call."
Brown County officials are using dental records to work to identify the remains. They expect to know more next week.
