(BEDFORD) - State finalists have been chosen for the National American Miss Indiana Pageant.
The pageants are for girls from 4-18 and have five age divisions.
The girls will compete July 5-7 at the Marriott in Indianapolis for a $1,000 cash award, crown, banner, a bouquet of roses and air transportation to compete in the National Pageant in California. State winners also will receive a tour of Hollywood and two VIP tickets to Disneyland.
Local state finalists include:
* Shya Crider, 8, daughter of Melissa and Lester Crider, for the Junior pre-teen age division (ages 7-9). She is a girl scout who enjoys gymnastics, art, singing and dancing.
* Christina Beth Phillips, 10, daughter of Joyce and Christopher Phillips, for the pre-teen age division (ages 10-12). She sings and dances and also enjoys gymnastics and swimming.
