(MONTGOMERY) - This morning, residents of the Barr-Reeve School District will head to the polls to vote on a referendum on allowing the School System to add a special levy to the property taxes collected in Barr and Reeve Townships.
A "yes" vote would allow the Barr-Reeve Schools to add an additional levy of 35 cents per 100-dollars of assessed valuation to the property taxes collected for the next seven years.
Barr-Reeve Superintendent Travis Madison said the School System has timed the request for an additional levy to make it tax neutral.
Madison says that Barr-Reeve voters will cast vote in the referendum at their usual polling places, the Fire Departments in Alfordsville, Cannelburg, and Montgomery. Polls will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
