(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Public Library is breaking down its summer reading program to include activities and books for those from ages 0-12 and those from 13-18 years old.
Children in the younger age group will "Dig Into Reading" while the teens will join "Beneath The Surface." Both programs begin June 3, with a kickoff event held on June 6. From 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the library parking lot.
The younger set of kids will receive a prize for every hour of reading completed, while the older age group receives a gnomie for each hour completed.
Both groups have a maximum of four prizes or gnomies. Gnomies can be entered to win prizes such as a Kindle Paperwhite.
Everyone who reads four hours receives a ticket to a magic show and a book. During the eight weeks of the summer reading, the library will host several programs that go with the themes.
The event ends July 25.
