(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington Police who were looking for a missing man found his body on the north side of Bloomington Monday afternoon.
Police say the 42-year old had committed suicide.
Bloomington Police received a call from the man's ex-wife at 10:30 a.m. Monday reporting her ex-husband was missing.
BPD Sgt. Joe Crider says the woman received a text message from him saying he was going to "dispose of himself"
Crider says, she then got a second message saying he was lost and out of gas. Later, she received another text message indicating that the man was lost and out of gasoline. Crider says that is when they traced his cell phone number and got a GPS coordinate on where the man was.
Around 2 p.m. police located the man's body in the area of Acuff and Prow roads and ruled the man had committed suicide.
Crider says an autopsy was performed Tuesday and his death was ruled suicide by hanging.
