(JACKSON COUNTY) - The recent arrests of three Jackson County residents in a counterfeit money investigation in Columbus likely has little to do with reports of counterfeit money recently surfacing in Jackson County, police report.
The counterfeit money showing up locally is likely from a counterfeiting operation broken up here late last year that led to the arrests of three others, Seymour Detective C.J. Foster said.
The investigation into the thousands of dollars' worth of fake bills that were circulated in Columbus late last year led to Friday's arrests of Gary P. "G.P." Moore, 63, of Seymour, Otha T. Bryant, 30, of Freetown, and Jacob S. Mondle, 45, of Medora.
