(WASHINGTON) - The first installment of Indiana’s property taxes are due in the county treasurer’s office by May 10.
Regular office hours at the Daviess County Court House are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. For the convenience of taxpayers in Daviess County, County Treasurer Elaine Wellman has announced that the treasurer's office will be open Saturday, from 8 a.m. until Noon. The back door of the courthouse will be open for taxpayers.
Wellman also said that property tax payments sent by mail, must be postmarked no later than May 10 to avoid a penalty.
She also reminded taxpayers that because some mail deposited late on May 10 might not be postmarked until the next day, taxpayers are urged to mail early.
