(DUBOIS COUNTY) - A crash in the 5900 block of East State Road 56 in Dubois County left one man injured.
According to an Indiana State Police reports, the accident happened at 8:50 p.m.
ISP Trooper Mike Allen says 23-year-old Luke Kern, of Dubois was traveling west in a 2003 GMC Sierra pick-up when he left the north side of the road, overcorrected and then hit an earth embankment. Kern was not wearing his seatbelt and his head hit the windshield causing minor injuries.
Kern was transported by ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment while there Trooper Allen requested Kern be tested for intoxication.
The preliminary results from the test showed that Kern had a .27 percent blood-alcohol content.
After being threated Kern was taken to the Dubois County Jail and charged with driving while intoxicated. Assisting Trooper Allen was the Dubois Fire Department, Memorial EMS.
