(ELNORA) - 54-year-old Wayne Ellis, an employee of the town of Elnora was arrested Tuesday, on multiple charges of forgery, theft, deception, and fraud.
The charges involve misuse of the town's credit card and misappropriation of Elnora town funds.
According to the Odon Journal, Ellis has been Elnora's assistant fire chief for several years.
The Daviess County Sheriff's Department began an investigation into missing money from the Fire Department Fund in early March.
Ellis was booked into the Daviess County Security Center on four counts of forgery, four counts of theft, four counts of deception, and three counts of fraud. After an initial hearing he was released on $5,000 bond.
