(WORTHINGTON) - A Freetown man was injured in a Memorial Day accident involving an all-terrain vehicle
59-year-old Robert Speers, was taken by helicopter to Methodist Hospital after fell from the ATV on County Road 800 W, south of County Road 800 North in Smith Township.
According to Greene County Sheriff Deputy Dustin Cain, Speers was riding in the bed of a ATV Gator -- sitting on a lawn chair -- and apparently fell from the ATV as it was turning west onto County Road 800N. The ATV was being driven by an unidentified family member.
Speers suffered an apparent fractured right leg and broken shoulder, according to the accident report.
Also assisting at the scene was personnel from the Worthington Fire Territory, Worthington Town Marshal Donald Richardson and units from the Greene County Ambulance Service.
