(BEDFORD) - Lighthouse Christian Bookstore will conduct its 11th annual Let Freedom Ring Celebration today.
"We started it 11 years ago during the Iraq War, to show support for our troops and to honor those who have sacrificed so much for the freedoms we enjoy," explained store owner, Brenda Harrison. "It is always held on Armed Forces Day."
The morning festivities will begin at 10 a.m. with prayer for the nation and troops and a flag-raising ceremony by the Color Guard of Mitchell's American Legion Post. Current and former military members will receive a free gift from the store.
People can stop by the store on State Road 37 just south of Bedford throughout the day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for live music performed by several local groups and a free pig roast.
