(LINTON) - Wednesday evening, a Linton police officer arrested a man suspected of driving while he was intoxicated. The officer also said he was texting while driving.
Anna Rochelle, of the Greene County Daily World reports, Aaron David Parker, 26, of Bloomfield, was taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in on a preliminary charge of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor.
Police received a report at approximately 7:39 p.m. that a possibly intoxicated driver was traveling west into Linton from Switz City.
Around 7:45 p.m., LPD Officer Thomas A. Jerrels located Parker driving westbound in a black Oldsmobile Alero. He said he saw Parker texting while he was driving.
The officer initiated a traffic stop but as Parker was pulling over to the shoulder of the roadway, Jerrels said Parker struck a curb.
Parker was determined to be intoxicated. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent allowed. He posted bond of $400 cash and was released later the same day.
