Man Formerly Charged In Death Of Vallonia Man

(COLUMBUS) - An Elizabethtown man faces criminal charges after the pickup truck he was driving struck and killed a Vallonia man early Sunday outside a Columbus tavern.

Formal charges were filed Thursday by Bartholomew County Prosecutor Bill Nash against Jacob A. Tolbert, 24, in the death of 27-year-old Thomas L. Brazzell, of Vallonia, formerly of Bedford.

County Coroner Larry Fisher said Brazzell died almost immediately of multiple trauma to the head in the parking lot of Caddies Pub, 2761 Central Ave.

The charges that Tolbert faces, identical to the ones made during his arrest, are:

Reckless homicide, a Class C felony;
Leaving the scene of an accident causing death, also a Class C felony
Possession of marijuana, a Class A misdemeanor
